This is a 1 quart bottle of PhosAway which contains a concentrated formula that reduces the amount of residual phosphates in the water through the filtration system. This phosphate remover should be used if phosphates levels in your pool are above 250 ppb (parts per billion) to improve overall pool water conditions.
Active Ingredient of the PhosAway: 25% Lanthanum chloride.
Directions for Adding PhosAway to Your Pool:
Note: NEVER mix different products together in the same bottle or pail. Resolve any existing pool water issues before using PhosAway. Test and balance the pool water. pH should be 7.4-7.6, Alkalinity 100-120 ppm, and Calcium Hardness 200-400 ppm.
With cap on tight, shake the container thoroughly before using. Acceptable levels of phosphates should be below 1,000 ppb, but ideal is under 250 ppb. Remove skimmer basket and any other debris prior to application.
With the circulation and filtration system operating, add 16 ounces of PhosAway per 10,000 gallons of pool water directly to the pool skimmer. This dose will reduce up to 1,000 ppb of phosphates. You can safely use PhosAway in larger doses. You cannot overdose the pool with PhosAway.
Run circulation and filtration system for 24 hours. After application, the water may appear hazy. This in an indication that the treated pool may have elevated levels of phosphates. Hazy water will clear shortly after it appears. Use Durachlor Concentrated Clarifier to speed up the pool recovery. Monitor filter pressure and clean or backwash as necessary. Pool use may resume 15 minutes after application.
