This is a 1/2 Cubic Foot bag of FilterBalls Mini, 15 microns, for your aboveground sand filter housing. The Minis are for smaller sand filter housing, 250 pounds or less. The Minis are made of a lightweight material that is 100 times lighter than sand. Each bag of FilterBalls Mini will replace 50 lbs. of sand. It makes changing the filter media so much easier than sand.
FilterBalls Minis work by trapping material like pollens, dead skin, hair, body oils, and other unwanted particles. They remove particles down to 15 microns whereas sand only goes down to 25-45 microns. When it is time to clean the system, the normal backwash process will release the trapped debris from the filter balls and flush it from the tank.
Not only do the FilterBalls Mini give you clean, clear water, but they also reduce operating pressure on your pump. So your pump does not have to work as hard. Plus, you backwash less often. This saves you time and money, and extends the life of your pool pump. With the reduced operating pressure, you also improve energy efficiency.
FilterBalls are 100% recyclable. You may recycle your Minis every 3 to 5 years. So they are environment friendly. FilterBalls also meet the highest standards set for filter media. FilterBalls Minis media is certified for health and safety in pools and potable water to the stringent NSF standards, 50, 42, 61, and 372.
Typically used in aboveground pools with small sand filter housing, the Minis will prove to be far superior than sand. It can also be used to replace Zeolite and Mystic White filter media. (The color may vary in the FilterBalls Mini.)
