This is a grate insert for a wall-mounted 1-1/2 inch MIP suction fitting. It is used as a safety grate to prevent most forms of entrapment by a vacuum line or low water suction line. It is not generally used on wall return fittings but is used on suction fittings. Just screws into 1-1/2 inch return fitting. This item is comparable to Hayward SP1026.
