The DEL AOP 50 is an Ozone and UV Combination Sanitizer for swimming pools up to 50,000 gallons and has 240 VAC and a max flow rate of 50 GPM. This DEL AOP 50 has 32 inch inlet and outlet PVC unions and is floor or wall mounted. The DEL AOP systems (formerly the Solar Eclipse systems) are the most powerful advanced sanitizer systems, even more powerful than Ozone alone.
The intelligently engineered AOP Systems have patented DEL APG ozone cells and a long-lasting germicidal UV-C lamp. The cells and lamp are enclosed in a durable, weatherproof and powder-coated steel case. It is rated for CSA/NEMA 3 indoor/outdoor installations. The APG ozone cells have a life expectancy of five years.
When germicidal UV light (UV-C) and ozone react, the result is the production of hydroxyl radicals. This reaction is known as Advanced Oxidation Process or AOP. Hydroxyl radicals are the most powerful oxidation agents available, quickly destroying bacteria, viruses, pathogens and other contaminants that occur in water. Hydroxyl radicals also destroy chlorine resistant microorganisms, such as Cryptosporidium Parvum, Giardia and E.Coli.
In the AOP 50 system, the highly unstable hydroxyl free radicals react with dissolved waterborne contaminants in a series of strong oxidation reactions. This process happens almost instantaneously. AOP systems also destroy and prevent chloramines formed when chlorine reacts with sweat or urine that cause pool odors and eye and skin irritations. The system dramatically increases water clarity and improves the pool experience. It also significantly reduces chemical demand and increases effectiveness of residual sanitizers.
