This is a 50 pound bag of alkalinity increaser which will raise the total alkalinity levels in your swimming pool water. This sodium bicarbonate product is in granular form. This chemical is meant to be maintained between 80-150 ppm so that the water does not turn corrosive or create a scale build up.

Directions for Adding Sodium Bicarbonate to Your Swimming Pool:
Measure the current pool water alkalinity using a standard test kit. If the alkalinity is less than 80 ppm, measure out 1.5 pounds for every 10,000 gallons of water to increase total alkalinity 10 ppm. Add this product by broadcasting the product slowly over the pool water in the deep end. Wash hands with soap and water afterwards. Measure the alkalinity in the water again after 4 hours and make any final additions, if needed.
