This is a 3 inch Polypropylene Cam and Groove Male Adapter x Female NPT Thread, Type A Quick Disconnect. Cam and groove couplings or quick connect couplings are used as a hose connection to avoid leakages. The Type A adapter is ordinarily used with a Type D coupler. However, this Type A adapter can also be used with a Type B or C couplers as well as a DC (Dust Cap) of matching size.
This adapter is also a replacement part for the Aeration Cannons manufacturered 2016 and beyond. Under no circumstances should cam and groove couplings be used for compressed air or steam service!
