The Competition Backstroke Start Device by Colorado Time helps eliminate slips at the start of a swim race. This device features an anti-slip foot backstroke wedge for that purpose. It is red in color to increase visibility under water. This unique device holds an Australian and U.S. Patent.
The Backstroke Device has a versatile design which allows the device to attach to nearly any starting block with either straps or anchors. The non-slip backstroke wedge measures 25.6 x 3.1 inches and features a 10 degree angle for secure foot placement at the start of the race.
Once the start device is in place, pull down the wedge to the desired location on the pool wall and lock into place. Once the swimmer has left the wall, the device will automatically retract up and out of the water until the next swimmer sets up for the next race. It will not interfere with turns and finishes.
