The Duraflex 16 foot diving board and bolt kit is used for recreational diving in commercial pools that conform to USA Diving, FINA or NCAA minimum dimensions. They are tapered from the fulcrum area to the diving tip.
The Duraflex tapered aluminum spring board is the best diving board ever produced and has been used exclusively in all major diving events world wide since 1958. The standard Duraflex board is a single taper from tip to fulcrum and then maintains the thicker section from fulcrum to butt. (The Maxiflex has a machine taper from tip to fulcrum and fulcrum to anchor, providing greater board action.)
The 16 foot Duraflex is basically a one piece ribbed extrusion of aluminum alloy 6070-T6, heat treated for a yield strength of 50,000 psi. It has a torsion-box extrusion, an anchor angle, and tip end cap riveted to the basic section. It is tapered from the fulcrum area to the diving tip.
The Duraflex board is coated in aqua-colored thermal-curing epoxy resin. The top surface is finished with a laminate of flint silica and alumina, between coats of epoxy to affect a slip-resistant surface. The diving board is to be bolted to the diving board stand by 2 carriage bolts 5/8 inches in diameter. (If the stand is a Durafirm stand, use 5/8 x 3-1/2 inch stainless steel board bolts, which are included. The 5-1/2 inch long plated steel board bolt is the most common size used on non-Durafirm Stands.) The underside ribs of the board are protected from direct contact with the Durafirm metal fulcrum by rubber channels (8) attached to the board with epoxy adhesive.
NOTE: Duraflex boards, stands and parts are NOT for residential use. Duraflex will not sell any boards, stands or parts to residential customers as residential pools are not designed to meet FINA (International Swimming Federation) guidelines.
