The Figure Four Stabilizing Plug, when tapped into the jig, prevents the jig from collapsing and creates a solid area to tighten the nut and bolt against. The jig that supports Figure Four type rails collapses slightly when used, causing the through bolt and hand rail to loosen. This is the perfect to prevent that from happening.
