This Waterco SM1050 Micron Vertical 42 Inch Sand Filter is fiberglass wound, has 3 inch bulkhead connections, and features internal hydraulically balanced laterals to maximize water flow and filtration. The NSF Approved SM1050 sand filter has a pressure rating of 58 psi and operates at a maximum working temperature of 122 degrees F. This filter is perfect for large commercial swimming pools and aquatic facilities.
The Waterco SM1050 sand filters are manufactured with high grade fiberglass and the latest in fiberglass winding technology. The filters are UV and corrosion resistant making them extremely durable and long lasting. The Waterco digitally controlled filament winding machine faultlessly winds continuous strands of high quality fiberglass filament. This is done under controlled tension to create a seamless one-piece vessel with refined consistency and superior quality. There are no welds or seams or special tank linings which can corrode.
Filament wound filters are equipped with Waterco’s exclusive “fishtail” laterals to improve its filtration and backwashing hydraulic efficiency. The laterals are hydraulically balanced to maximize water flow and filtration. Fishtail laterals provide effective coverage of the filter bed and balanced water flow during backwashing. Plus, the backwash time is significantly reduced, leading to a 30% savings of backwash water. Conventional laterals are not suitable for large-scale commercial filters.
The SM1050 filters do not include a multiport valve. The six-position multiport valve designed for this filter is item #2290820 and can be purchased separately. The tank has a 10 year warranty and there is a one year warranty on parts.
