This is a Taylor Midget pH (Phenol Red) 6.8-8.2 Test Kit. The K-1285-2 Kit tests for pH using a midget comparator system and phenol red.
Testing your swimming pool pH is one of the most important water chemical tests for water balance. When testing pH, what you are really measuring is how acidic or how alkaline the pool water is. If the water pH is too far one way or the other, you risk ending up with unbalanced swimming pool water.
A pool’s pH levels should be maintained between 7.2 and 7.6. To lower the pH, the most common dry product is Sodium Bisulfate. To raise the pH, Sodium Carbonate is normally used.
